2024 Points Standings Ahead Of Final Official Race Day

With one more race day remaining in the 2024 season, the only contest appears to be in the Expert category. Aaron Castro (Team Forza) is just eight (8) points ahead of George Peters (GP Designs) for top 2024 honors.

In the Junior driver category, Abe Maddox is well ahead in total points with no pressure in the final race due to Team Johnson’s inability to attend the event.

In the Sportsman category, Eric Lane is well ahead of his nearest challenger, Shaylin Maddox of Team Maddox Racing. Team Maddox is registered for Saturday’s final event, and Shaylin will most certainly make a point to pressure Eric for the day’s overall Sportsman win.

In the Expert category, Aaron and George are expected to compete feverishly for the top Expert category honors of the 2024 racing season.

2024 IROC Champions Placed On Stewart Raceway Wall of Fame

Our 2024 IROC Champs have finally been enshrined on our Wall of Fame.

Eric Lane placed fourth overall in our one-day IROC championship held on November 2, 2024. He was the only Sportsman driver in the field that day and earned his honors with a fantastic placing against a nearly all-expert field.

Expert driver, Aaron Castro drove aggressively all day and secured enough points to hold off the 2022 IROC Expert Champion George Peters.

Congratulations to our 2024 IROC Champs!!

Open Track Day Report, November 30, 2024

Eric “Fast” Lane’s Viper V-SPEC F1/Indy IROC set with plastic hardbodies.

Thanks to all of you who made the trek to Stewart Raceway for an open track day!

Despite the staggered arrivals, we completed four races and ample practice/tuning laps.

Team Maddox’s Abe Maddox won the first IROC race using Fast Lane Racing’s Viper V-SPEC F1/Indy Lexan cars. The other three races were our MegaG+ Modifieds, Team Forza’s IROC V-SPEC Lexan Camaro set, and we ended with Viper V-SPEC Lexan cars. All three races were hard fought but with a new SlotTrak fueling bug in the mix that made them even more challenging.  We have no idea where the bug came from since we’ve been using the same version of SlotTrak for over a year. Oh well, the joys of technology.

Team Forza’s Viper V-SPEC IROC Camaros podium at the 2024 IROC championships.

We may have to move away from SlotTrak since support is virtually nonexistent these days, and their latest version crashes on SR3. If we want to do fuel races, we may have to do it on SR2 until I can figure out how to get the latest version working on SR3 or find a replacement.

That said, we’re shooting for another track day event next Saturday. It could be a 50/50 race day with two builder classes and two IROC classes. That should wrap up the season. From there, I’ll total the points from each official 2024 race and determine the season champs for each category.

We need an update on Jerry’s cat, Peat. How’s he doing?

Stay tuned for details on the event next Saturday.

Okay, shut up and drive!
