Jag Hobbies PR-5 “F1/Indy” 1.7

This car was designed to be a replacement for the LWB 1.7 Mega-G and Mega-G+ platforms. Parts commonality between the TR-3, NC-2, and this platform are roughly 90%.

This chassis was designed to replace the Tomy Mega G, Mega G+ and Auto World 1.7 chassis (The clip required to mount the Auto World body is not included but available separately). The performance is similar to the Tomy Mega G chassis.

The chassis comes complete and ready to run. Just add your body (AW body requires body clip, not included).

The chassis features the following:

- - Silicone front and rear tires
  - Stainless steel axles
  - Stainless steel guide pin
  - Neodymium front and rear traction magnets
  - Polymer motor magnets
  - Phosphor Bronze pick-up Shoes
  - Delrin gears
  - Black wheels

Wheelbase 1.6″ (41.5 mm) Bodies are not currently included.

The guide pin assembled on this chassis is for the deeper and wider slots found on the newer tracks. The stock guide pin may cause the car to stick on some tracks. Shorter plastic and steel guide pins are available for older tracks.

Designed and assembled in the USA with foreign and domestically sourced parts.

Class Rules:

Body:
Any long-wheelbase (1.7) F1/Indy-style hard body is allowed. May be lowered and otherwise modified but must retain all original body features, including wings and front and rear panels. Minor trimming to clear track and rail is allowed.

Chassis:
Stock Jag PR-5 platform only. No modifications allowed except to straighten chassis and peen axle holes, if necessary.

Armature:
Arm must measure 6 ohms or higher. ~~May use any brand hot stock 6 ohm arms.~~ Electrical: Any brand shoes, shoe springs, motor springs, motor brushes. Must use stock brush tubes (no big foot or set screw types).

Magnets:
Stock motor and traction magnets. Magnet orientation must be stock and no stronger than N30. No reverse-zapped magnets permitted.

Guide Pin:
Only one guide pin is permitted. Stock Jag guide pin or metal guide pin may be used.

Gearing:
Stock gear ratio (7/25) and stock Jag Hobbies drive train.

Front wheels and Axles:
Stock Jag Hobbies front-end, ~~Jag Hobbies independent front-ends permitted.~~ Any Jag Hobbies front tire size permitted.

Rear Wheels, Tires, and Axles:
Any silicon tire and plastic or Delran wheel combination is allowed, wide or narrow. No Urethane tires allowed. Dual-compound tires are NOT allowed. Any stock OEM axle is allowed. Stock rear tire diameter is ~.454.

General:

1. PR-5 races shall be run at a minimum of 15.0 volts +/- .25 volts. Race Director may change voltage based on consensus of drivers.
2. If a component rule is in question then use the stock O.E.M. component(s).
3. No component on car may measure more than 1.312 wide (wheels, chassis, body, etc.).
4. Final interpretation is with the race director.

85% Parts Compatibility

The Jag NC-2, TR-3, DR-1, and the PR-5 share many of the same parts, which makes these platforms very economical to campaign. The table below indicates what parts are compatible with an “X”.
