Active Club Cars

Some drivers have purchased the wrong chassis or wrong bodies for the various cars we're now running. I've added some notes to each of the "Active Club Cars" links on the site. You can find links to purchase the rolling chassis', parts, bodies, and so on there. Look under the "Additional Information" and "Discussions" tabs to see more information and links to the product.

Bottom line: Don't by the "Club" or "GT" versions of these cars. The platform we're running is the standard versions of the NC-2, PR-5, and TR-3. Also note the the first PR-5 chassis' shipped from Jag will have the upgraded motor magnets, you will want to replace these with stock motor magnets. So, when/if you order a PR-5 from Jag, you may want to also order the stock motor mags (#12-0006-1/12-0006). The car actually runs better on Stewart Raceway with the stock magnets.

I think everybody now has the NC-2 and PR-5. I'm hearing that the GT-40 body for the NC-2 is hard to get out there for a reasonable cost. You can run any GT-40 body as long as it isn't Lexan (soft). There are paintable Tomy versions as well as resin and 3D-printed versions out there too. If you can't find a good GT-40 body, most of us have plenty of loaners available.

The PR-5 will be the "featured" platform for the upcoming Formula-e Series so get your car and spares ASAP. Here is a link on parts commonality between the various Jag cars, you don't need many unique spares to race all three of these cars.

The upcoming series will have a "PR-5 feature" race, which will be a more like a mini-enduro race of anywhere from 300- to 600-laps, depending on the course layout. There will be at least two events held on the oval.

Tuning tips for the PR-5 are good lubrication, lowered body, lower profile tires (rear), and good shoe profiling. One issue we've seen during testing was intermittent shoe to brush barrel contact, a common problem with the Mega-G platform. I've only seen this on one of my two cars. It was corrected by reshaping the loop and shoe handle, basically figure out which shoe is losing continuity and profile it exactly like the one that is working. Jag has some shots of this topic here.

Here's some quick links to each car's detail page:
Pretty much everything you need to know will be on these pages or the Active Club Car Forum pages.

We're not yet racing the TR-3 but several drivers have purchased this car, in both the Augoran and 227 versions. Both are good choices but I suspect the Augoran (short wheelbase) will out perform the 227 Can-Am version (longer wheelbase). You can run any body you'd like on this car as long as it's a hard body. Personally, I think the Augoran body is going to be the best choice but there are a lot of options out there, for sure. I'm curious to see what you guys come up with as we start to race it.

Everyone except Kevin has a TFX now, very cool. We'll definitely race the TFX in the upcoming series so get your car dialed in and find the best performing body you can. I think I'm going to stick with the Dash McClaren body for now but I also like the Jeff Hurley GT-40 option.
