The 2023 Racing Season is here!

Well, it's here but the weather isn't. Looks like another week of rain with the worst of it through Wednesday and more possibly Friday and Saturday. No idea when we'll get back to racing but I'm open to track time if enough people want to brave the weather and venture up here. The good news is that the weather will start to taper off for a spell after Wednesday. We got very lucky today when another storm blew by further south and wreaked havoc on the lower central coast instead. \

I haven't published the details yet but the next series will be a 50/50 Series of five races. The format will be two builder classes and two IROC classes. The first race will be Viper-VSPEC cars and our new MegaG+ support class. This is a cool class and one that the tracks up north have been running. Great for new drivers and very close competition. Plan on the MegaG+ platform being run at each race day event. Right now this class is essentially box-stock but you can run any slip-on tires, tweak shoes, and shim the rear axle assembly.

The Sacramento guys have allowed any front or rear-end and any shoe type, but pretty much everything else is stock. We'll gravitate to those rules at some point and call it MegaG+ "Modified" class.

While I've been self-quarantined with a sore throat and occasional cough, I've been busy. No, not working on cars or tracks. I've been goofing off in the "warm" house working on website stuff. Probably a waste of time but I like dinking around with stuff.

I've added a simple chat/messaging service on the Member Resources page. Basically, we can chat/message with other members who are actively logged into the site. I know, I'm probably the only one ever logged into the site longer than it takes to find out details on a race or event, but maybe this will be useful to some of our newer members. I also added a new Forum environment, which I'll cover in a separate communication.

You have to be logged-in to the site to use either of these new features. And don't worry, only authorized members can see any member content posted as private to forums. Chat info can only be seen by registered and logged-in members.

Okay, shut up and drive!
